Four late breaker sessions on Wednesday, 22 July, will highlight very recent research findings and will include a wide range of topics, including the impact of widespread ART on TB prevalence, chemoprophylaxis during breastfeeding and in HIV discordant couples, and updates on a number of medication regimens, among others. Online pre-registration for IAS 2009 closes on Thursday, 9 July (24:00 CET) for delegates and Saturday, 11 July for media. If you are planning to attend and have not registered, please do so before then. After these deadlines, registration will resume on-site at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Saturday, 18 July.

Coming to Cape Town? Be sure to check out the IAS 2009 General Information Guide for a wealth of tips to help make your stay in Cape Town a pleasant one and to facilitate your participation in the conference. The guide contains maps and other practical information about the Cape Town International Convention Centre, information about the Community Orientation Programme (to be held on Sunday afternoon, 19 July), as well as information on optional tours and affiliated events.

The full conference programme is now available online. Delegates and other interested parties can search the online Programme-at-a-Glance to find session titles, speakers and abstracts. A selection of ‘roadmaps’ are available to identify sessions or activities related to a particular topic.
During the conference, the Programme-at-a-Glance will link to rapporteur reports and to the full text of all abstracts selected for presentation, as well as to speaker slides, e-posters and remarks, when provided. Links to webcasts and audio files will also be available. Affiliated event and satellite organizers will also be able to upload background materials and handouts.
